How to Transfer cPanel Account from WHM

When you planning to move all your website data, account(s) and all database from your old server to the new one, how to make it easy to move it within one simple step?

Well, the best way to move data for cPanel accounts from one cPanel server to another is by using WHM (WebHost Manager). But, to make it happen you should make sure that you have privilege as root in your server. If you're not sure, please contact your hosting provider to ask further.

Now, to move data for cPanel accounts from one cPanel server to another is as follows:

  1. Log into your WHM on the new server as root. Usually the address is http://domainname.com/whm or http://domainname.com:2086.
  2. On the Transfers menu there are few options:
    • Copy an account from another server
    • Copy an account from another server with account password
    • Copy multiple accounts/packages from another server
    • Review copied account

  3. Click "Copy multiple accounts/packages from another server". (You can also try another options by yourself)

That will copy the data for the accounts that you select. This includes website data, emails, mailing lists, databases, etc but would not clone the configuration settings from your old cPanel machine.

Hope this can help answer your question.
