How to Joining IDM Unfinished Download Files

You're using Internet Download Manager (IDM), and have got a download that is on 99.99%. But when it is short 100kb (out of 700mb avi) you can't resume the download.

You really don't want to download the whole file again. Is there any way to join these 4 files from IDM temporary folder? The simple answer is, YES.

You could join them at Command (CMD) Prompt.

Go to cmd prompt (Start > Run > type "cmd" and push Enter) and browse to the directory (usually C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\IDM\DwnlData\YOURNAME) where the files are held. Then do this command:

copy /b "file1" + "file2" + "file3" + "file4" "Output.avi"

But depending on the way the Internet Download Manager stores the files that may not give you a working AVI file at the end.

You can also use it for any extension or files you've downloaded. Hope this small tip can help you.
