"Windows Firewall provides host-firewall protection on computers running. As a host firewall, Windows Firewall runs on each of your servers and clients, providing protection from network attacks that pass through your perimeter network or originate inside your organization, such as Trojan horse attacks, worms, or any other type of malicious program spread through unsolicited incoming traffic."

For some reason, you might want to block or unblock certain programs from connecting to the internet.

The problem is the program doesn't allow user to make custom setting for it. So we must use third party application to do it.

In Windows XP, you can set the Windows Firewall to block or unblock certain applications. I assume you already understand what is Windows Firewall. If not, please read the explanation from Microsoft official site.

How to Open Command Prompt from Specific Folder

As a Windows user, you should be familiar with "Command Prompt" (executable name cmd.exe). A command prompt is a non-graphical interface that allows you to interact with your operating system. At the command prompt, you enter commands by typing their names followed by options and arguments.

To access the command prompt in Windows, you can use this two usual ways:
  • From the Start menu, select Run... . In the "Open:" field, type "cmd" (Windows NT, 2000, XP, and Vista) or "command" (Windows 95, 98, and Me) and press Enter.
  • Or, you can go to Start menu > All Programs > Accesories > Command Prompt.

To see the content of a folder you can type "DIR" then press ENTER, or type "CD\Windows" to go to Windows folder. But, there is a short way to open Command Prompt from specific folder.

You're using Internet Download Manager (IDM), and have got a download that is on 99.99%. But when it is short 100kb (out of 700mb avi) you can't resume the download.

You really don't want to download the whole file again. Is there any way to join these 4 files from IDM temporary folder? The simple answer is, YES.

You could join them at Command (CMD) Prompt.

Go to cmd prompt (Start > Run > type "cmd" and push Enter) and browse to the directory (usually C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\IDM\DwnlData\YOURNAME) where the files are held. Then do this command:
